Terms

The terms for using localeye.cam

Plain rules: be an adult, keep your account safe, use your cameras lawfully, don't abuse the relay. The service comes as it is.

Version 2026-10-09

1. Who you are agreeing with

localeye.cam is provided by the operator of localeye.cam ("we"). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the privacy notice.

The operator hasn't finished adding their details to this page yet.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and able to make a binding agreement. If you sign up for a business, you confirm you may do so for it.

3. Your account

Keep your password (and two-step codes) to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it. Give a real email address you can read: it is how you get back in.

4. Your cameras are your responsibility

This site only lists your servers and, if you want, relays connections to them. What you record is up to you, and so is following the law where your cameras are. Depending on where you are, that can mean for example: telling people they are being recorded (signs), not pointing cameras into neighbours' homes or other private spaces, getting consent before recording sound or conversations, following data-protection law when your cameras film people (under the GDPR you are then the controller of that footage), and respecting the rights of employees. Don't use this service to stalk, harass or secretly watch anyone.

5. Acceptable use

  • No illegal content or activity, and nothing that infringes someone else's rights.
  • No attempts to break into this site, other people's sites or servers, or to get around limits or suspensions.
  • Don't use the tunnel to run something other than your LocalEye server (no file hosting, proxies or public websites), and keep within reasonable use: it is shared by everyone.
  • Names and addresses: first come, first served, but not ones that impersonate someone else or use a brand that isn't yours.

We may suspend a server or an account, or take back a name, that breaks these rules or puts the service or other people at risk - where possible after telling you.

6. The service

It is provided "as is" and "as available". We try to keep it running, but there is no guarantee it is always available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose - don't make your safety depend on reaching your cameras through it. We may change or stop features, or the service, and will give notice where we reasonably can.

7. Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data or footage, or for anything your own server or cameras do; and our total liability is limited to what you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim (if it was free: nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud), or your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Ending it

You can delete your account at any time (Account → Delete account). We may close an account under section 5, or one that has been unused for a long time after warning you by email.

9. Changes and law

If these terms change, the version above changes and important changes are announced on this site before they apply; using the site afterwards means you accept them (if you don't, you can delete your account). If one part is found invalid, the rest still applies.
